This renovation of a pre-war double duplex in Brooklyn Heights included the 12th floor and penthouse.
The existing layout consisted of two side-by-side duplexes that a previous resident had attempted to connect, but only on the lower floor, forcing residents to descend the stairs on one side in order to reach the upper floor on the other side.

To maximize light and circulation, we designed an open riser steel staircase.
We installed new windows and doors throughout, permitting light to fill the entire home, all the way into the remote recesses.
We enhanced the existing features of the space, including interior and exterior terraces, with extraordinary views of the harbor and excellent southern exposure.
